Maylim Limited is proud to be delivering the New Street Public Realm Enhancement Project on behalf of Fingal County Council, bringing forward a major transformation of one of Malahide's most important public spaces.
Located at The Diamond, the project builds on the success of the pedestrianisation of New Street and will create a high-quality, people-focused destination at the heart of the village. Designed to enhance accessibility, encourage active travel and support local businesses, the scheme will provide a more welcoming and vibrant environment for residents, visitors and the wider community.
As principal contractor, Maylim will deliver a comprehensive programme of public realm improvements, including upgraded paving, enhanced public lighting, new seating and cycle parking, outdoor dining areas, extensive landscaping and the planting of 37 new trees. The project also incorporates sustainable urban drainage features and upgraded water and drainage infrastructure, helping to create a greener and more resilient village centre.
The enhanced public realm has been carefully designed to balance the needs of all users while creating a safer, more accessible and attractive streetscape. Once complete, New Street will offer an inviting civic space where people can meet, relax, shop and enjoy everything that Malahide has to offer.
Construction will be delivered in carefully planned phases to minimise disruption to businesses, residents and visitors, with pedestrian access maintained throughout the works. Through close collaboration with Fingal County Council, local stakeholders and the wider community, Maylim is committed to delivering a public space that will benefit Malahide for generations to come.
